In a tragic road accident on Monday morning, a 40-year-old delivery agent on southwest Delhi’s Nelson Mandela Marg was killed when the electric scooter he was riding was hit by a speeding car, police said.
The victim, identified as Rajkumar, was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead by the attending doctors, the police said.

Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest), said, “Information was received at the Vansat Kunj North police station about the road accident at 6:30 pm.”

“The hospital authorities also informed us that a person has been brought dead into the premises,” DCP Goel added in his statement.
“Officers, along with the staff members, reached the spot where an electric two-wheeler having a temporary registration number was found in an accidental condition, but no injured person was found on the spot,” the officer mentioned.
Police said that, as part of the investigation, the CCTV footage of the area is being scanned for further details.
The officer further confirmed that the offending vehicle has been identified as an electric car, and local inquiries are being conducted.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the BNS, the DCP stated.
